IMPLEMENTATION OF FTTH NETWORK FOR CEAL COM AT AZUL (BS AS PROVINCE)
Background
The Cooperativa Eléctrica de Azul Ltda was created in 1956 with the purpose of providing electrical supply to Azul (located at south of Buenos Aires province, currently population ca. 50,000 inhabitants). Over time and the city’s growth, the Cooperativa has evolved to provide its associate members with access to drinking water and communications services, among other services.
Customer Requirements
CEAL COM is the Department of Cooperativa Azul that provides Internet Access and Telecommunications to residential subscribers at Azul city. Due to the increasing badwidth demands and the high costs of infrastructure and maintenance of the copper network, the Cooperative has decided to adopt new technologies in order to modernize the service, achieve more agile management and maintenance, and reduce operating costs.
Proposed Solution
Technology Bureau has been chosen by the Cooperativa Azul to provide the equipment to enhance its new FTTH fiber optics network.
Technology Bureau has provided Alcatel Nokia MSAN 7330 equipment with GPON capabilities for the central node and Alcatel Nokia ONTs for connection to end customers. This has allowed the Cooperative to reduce operating costs generated by the old network, and provide high-speed internet access service to a big portion of the community, expanding future possibilities to provide Triple-Play services.
