ARSAT
Background
ARSAT -Empresa Argentina de Soluciones Satelitales Sociedad Anónima- is the telecommunications company of the Argentinian government and provides data transmission, telephony and television services through land, air and space infrastructure.
Its headquarters is located at Benavídez, in Buenos Aires province. From there it operates the services offered by the geostationary satellites ARSAT-1 and ARSAT-2, the REFEFO (Federal Fiber Optics Network), the National Data Center and the TDA (Digital Open Television) services.
Customer requirements
Red Federal de Fibra Óptica (REFEFO)
Launched in 2009, it consists of a 33,000-kilometer FO deployment that can provide optical service to every province in Argentina.
At the beginning of the 2019 it has 28,772 kilometers of operational FO and 738 connected locations.
ARSAT needed to have premium-quality FO cables for new works and maintenance of its Federal Fiber Optic Network, in addition to reducing CAPEX / OPEX costs and guaranteeing deliveries in a timely manner.
Proposed solution
Having been chosen by ARSAT, Technology Bureau has been a supplier since 2016 of FO Cables of different types including 48FO and 96FO single mode optical fibers according to the ITU G.652-D standard of LWP (Low Water Peak), with primary coating, in groups of 12 fibers arranged in loose tube inside tubes filled with suitable and fully dielectric water blocking material.
Benefits
