ARCOR
Background
ARCOR is an argentine multinational group specialized in consumer foods, sweets, chocolates, ice cream, cookies, food and nutraceuticals, agribusiness and packaging, which exports its products to more than 120 countries on five continents all over the world. ARCOR has offices in America, Europe and Asia and it employs more than 21,000 people in its 47 industrial plants spread up many Latin-American countries.
Customer Requirements
ARCOR needed to expand and update its WiFi wireless network in two industrial plants located in Buenos Aires province, through a Solution that would not threaten or interrupt the normal operation of each one of them.
The network would have to provide plant members with stable and efficient access to the applications and services of the internal network, as well as secure and manage access to external content.
Proposed Solution
ARCOR has selected Technology Bureau to carry out the work by extending its initial request to other areas of coverage of its WiFi wireless network located in different and distant industrial plants in Argentina: Lujan, Paraná, Cordoba, Neuquén, and others, allowing the connectivity of its employees through mobile devices to computer systems and especially for the use of barcode readers for the products they distribute.
Technology Bureau has provided access points (AP) and has carried on the provision, installation and commissioning of Wireless Controllers.
The implemented Solution had Access Point equipment of the IAP-205 series and Wireless Controllers of the 7005 series, among other products, which has allowed Arcor to provide better connectivity to its employees, minimize the unavailability times of its services, and facilitate the path towards future extensions of its WiFi network.
